Introduction

PleaseGetMe.com is an online gift registry. The website allows people to register a list of items that they would like to receive for Christmas, birthday or indeed any occasion. Visitors to the website can then view a person's wish list and reserve items that they intend to buy for the creator of the list.

Motivation

The motivation behind the website was simple. Every year my grandmother asks, usually far in advance, what I would like for Christmas and also for my birthday. Almost every year I couldn't think of something so I would say money. However now that I no longer live with my parents there are lots of gadgets, tools, and household items that I need. Often I think of these items at random times of the year. I therefore created pleasegetme.com as a way to manage the things I want and allow members of my family to see what I would like.

The website was built using HTML 4.01, PHP 4 and MySQL.
